MY STORY
My background comes from a family bakery business – making and selling the best bread in Swansea. And Welsh Cakes, Carrot Cakes and Grandma’s Bread Pudding. Brought up on great tastes and fab food.

HOW IT ALL STARTED
It all started by making chilli relish as a gift for my friends and family. Everybody loved it and started telling me I should sell it.

So I started experimenting with fruits, spices and flavours, just playing about, wanting to create something a little different from the traditional run-of-the-mill jams usually found on shop shelves.

Concentrating also on only using lovely, fresh unprocessed fruit and veg, without using lots of extra additives – making them as natural as possible and great for children (and adults too!) – For people who love wholesome, great tasting food.

Ensuring the flavour is fabulous but I also  like to add a bit of fun to my jams by giving them distinctive names; Cheeky Cherry, Lemon and Ginger Tickle etc.

I’ve lived in the Gower for 11 years, and am an avid gardener with 1 acre of gardens containing numerous apple trees. I always hated the waste coming from these trees – I usually ended up feeding the wild horses or giving them to my friends for their pigs

There’s only so many apple muffins / crumbles / pies you can make! So from this year I will be using apples from my own garden.

It’s such a lovely feeling to watch them growing knowing I will be able to use so many of them this year and in the future.

My garden will be a base for many of my lovely jams, chutneys and relishes – it doesn’t get much fresher than that, does it.

I also use my own rhubarb and herbs, grown in the garden, picked and used the same day.

They are spoon fed new jams nearly every week. They don’t complain often.

My family do the tasting and my daughter helps me cut the pretty tops for the jars. She also helps me at the markets and shows.

I love unusual, special flavours and my relishes, chutneys, jams and conserves bring this through to your tastebuds. My relishes, chutneys, jams and conserves are packaged in such a way that they are a perfect gift. Not your typical pot of jam, everybody that sees them comments on how lovely they look.

At our markets and shows we always have a tasting table and 99% of the people who taste, buy.

It is really fab for me to see people’s faces change as the spoon goes in their mouth.

The reaction is really lovely to see. And the feedback has been amazing to hear.
