Welcome to the Blaenafon Cheddar Company

We try to use products Grown in Wales in all our Cheeses

We are a specialist cheddar cheese company based in the World Heritage site of Blaenafon, South Wales. At present we produce eleven very distinctive cheddars and four varieties of goat’s cheese.

All our cheeses are hand made at our shop in Broad Street Blaenafon.

Our Pwll Mawr cheddar is actually matured at the bottom of the mine shaft at Big Pit mining museum and can be bought at their gift shop. Also in the product range are luxury hampers made to your individual requirements with Welsh food and drink.

Our cheeses are flavoured with Penderyn Welsh whisky, Welsh white wine, Reverend James ale and other local ingredients.

The four heritage cheddars are coated in different coloured waxes with scenes of Blaenafon’s industrial heritage on the labels.

Our specialist cheddar company was established in the World Heritage town of Blaenafon in South Wales on December 2nd 2006.

Now well into our 6th year we can take a look back at what we have achieved, and wonder how we have done so well in such a small period of time

The company is owned by Susan Fiander-Woodhouse & her husband Gerry Woodhouse. Susan manages the company on the day to day basis  and is also responsible for all the Food safety & legal responsibilities & accounting. Gerry organizes stock, deliveries & is the company engineer. Gerry also runs the Mountain Tours side of the business.

The other 2 members of this family business are;
Terence Hill (son) who is Production Manager
Adam Green (son in-law) who is Planning Manager.

The company prides itself in the work it does for international tourism for Wales.

This involves exhibiting at many major events & festivals, working with TV & Media worldwide and always being on duty even on days off!
