Welcome to the wonderful world of flowers

Flowers appeal to so many of our senses all at once, their colour and beauty touch our sight, their scent infuses our brain with pleasant sensations, while their texture brings pleasure to both our eyes and hands. Floral arrangements take these sensations one step further by creating an unexpected surprise of beauty and intensity.

Flowers are a wonderful way to express your personality and create a mood, from party time to romantic, by using different blooms, shades and styles. They can leave a lasting and special memory for you and your guests.

In my arrangements I strive to send a flower filled message of love or passion, the beauty of elegance, or the excitement of nature and wilderness. Being passionate about flowers, all my work is inspired by nature and how things grow naturally. This comes out in my unique arrangements.

Great pride is taken to create just what you have in mind for the big day, working closely together to bring a vision to life.
Having gathered many years experience being the in house florist at Picton Castle, where I have recently had the honour to produce flower arrangements for the visit of her Majesty the Queen to the Castle in May 2014.

I have also had the opportunity to work at the Grand Theatre Swansea , Operas at Lampter House, dressing Craig-y-Nos Castle for Christmas, private dinner parties, wedding anniversaries, large corporate events and charity dinners.

I pride myself on creating bespoke flowers to suit your personality, style preferences and budget. Please contact me to discuss your requirements and I can provide a quote.

Choosing Flowers
Colour is not the only thing that matters when creating a flower arrangement. There are shapes to consider: domed, spiky, single bloom, floating, grouped and open. Texture is also important. Some flowers have full heads while some have petals easily visible. Contrasting these types of textures can add visual interest. Foliage also adds variation to an arrangement and can give a lovely natural look.

Flowers in Season
Today, many flowers – for example roses and Lilly’s – are available in a wide range of colours through out the year, due to suppliers being able to transport flowers from growers all over the world.
Some flowers however, Sweet Peas, Spring flowers, Peonies for example have a short availability during the growing season.
If a flower you have chosen is unavailable there is always a good substitute that can work well in your arrangements.

I buy local flowers from             The Woodland Farm

Colour Schemes
Many people have a good idea of what colour flowers they would like to use in their arrangements. Whether it is to match a material or room, create a mood or go with the season.
If a perfect match is unavailable then a good contrast can work wonderfully .

From a bursting richness of the garden meadow look to peaceful, calm, Zen reflection. What ever your vision, I strive to bring it to life.

Your designs can be wonderful, inspired creations of your imagination, but if the foundations of your arrangement are not firm, if the flowers fall out of the foam, or the correct balance has not been achieved, then your design is worthless.
Come along to one of my workshops and learn the first important steps in flower arranging. You will learn how to create your own masterpiece with expert, friendly and fun guidance.
