The Nursery
Nursery open 8.30 – 5.00 every day

Gardens at the nursery
There are two main gardens at the nursery, the woodland garden, a tranquil escape from the hustle bustle of the nursery, open whenever the nursery is open, and the vegetable garden that is open by appointment only.

Our Shop in Carmarthen
Farmyard Nurseries also has a local shop/garden centre based in  Carmarthen. A small yet well stocked area located by the clock tower right in the heart of town.
Most of the plants available at our shop are home grown at our nursery based in Llandysul. Our plants are grown outside in open beds, ensuring they are strong enough to survive when you plant them in your garden. The store is well stocked and the perfect place to find unusual plants at competitive prices. Also, our friendly staff are always on hand to help and answer any gardening queries you may have.
Anything available at the nursery can be brought to the shop for collection if necessary. We are open Monday to Saturday from 9 until 5 during the spring, summer and autumn. Winter hours are slightly reduced.

Our Market Stall in Carmarthen
As well as our shop we also have a lovely market stall every Wednesday, Friday  and Saturday (unless the weather is awful) market stall in Carmarthen. It is situated between Boots and Marks & Spencers and is run by Hazel and sometimes Dave.
We have had this for 30 years (half a lifetime) and have some lovely customers who come back week after week to keep us informed of the goings on and gossip and to buy the odd plant as well.
The aim of the market is to be a show piece for the business – so it is market stall2always stocked with plants that are looking good, usually in flower to tempt you as you pass.

All the plants that we sell in the Nursery can be brought in to be picked up from here.
We are open from silly o’clock in the  morning until 5 or 6 at night depending on how cold Hazel is!
It is just 200 yards from our shop literally just around the corner!

The nursery covers an area of approximately 3 acres, stocking upwards of 2000 varieties of plants and is based just outside Llandysul.
As many plants as possible are grown outside in open beds to promote hardy garden worthy plants that will survive the rigours of our Welsh climate, however a large area is covered with polythene tunnels to protect young plants, add shade or generally coddle the more unusual bits and pieces..
As we grow most of the plants ourselves we carry huge stocks, upwards of 2000 varieties, and customers are encouraged to wander freely.
We have a well stocked sales area which holds a large proportion of what we sell, however the ‘best bits’ are usually tucked away in a corner of the 3 acre nursery somewhere and finding these has kept many an avid collector busy for many hours, gleefully routing through nearly 40 polytunnels.
Customers are encouraged to ‘wander’ around the majority of the working nursery, after all we are all gardeners and the plants in the ‘no-entry’ areas are always annoying seemingly better, bigger and with more flowers. There may be an occasion when the plants that you find are ‘not for sale’ plants , but these can be ordered if necessary for collection/delivery at a later date. A long time ago we decided that we would keep the ‘no go’ areas to an absolute minimum, and generally customer prefer this approach.
In our sales area you will also find a large selection of ceramic and potsterracotta pots and a range of ‘Dragonstone’ ornate statues and planters.
