Welcome to the Kings Head Inn

The Kings Head Inn is located in the heart of the small yet popular village of Llangennith on the Gower peninsula of South Wales. A row of three 17th century buildings behind a splendid rough stone wall make up the Kings Head which stands opposite the largest church on the Gower peninsula in the coastal village of Llangennith.

The accommodation is separate from the Pub and consists of two large stone buildings with their own courtyard and Town House (Next door to the pub) which houses our large family rooms. The rooms are rated 4 star with the AA, have under-floor heating, plasma TV screens, Tea & coffee making facilities, fridges and furnished to a very high standard.

The King’s Head has been owned and managed by the Stevens family since the 1980s. In the olde worlde character bars, with beams and exposed stone, an impressive variety of food is served nearly all of it home-made and based on fresh Welsh produce.

Please note some of our rooms are pet friendly and this must be mentioned upon booking to ensure a pet friendly room is allocated. There is an additional charge for £5 per pet per night. We also have stables available if you would like to take advantage of the wonderful riding Country and beaches Gower has on offer.

ABOUT

A row of three 17th century buildings behind a splendid rough stone wall make up the Kings Head which stands opposite the largest church on the Gower peninsula in the coastal village of Llangennith. From the village there is easy access to Llangennith beach, where the sand stretches to Rhosilli, nearly four miles away.

The King’s Head has been owned and managed by the Stevens family since the 1980s. In the olde worlde character bars, with beams and exposed stone, an impressive variety of food is served nearly all of it home-made and based on fresh Welsh produce.

The rooms are seperate to the pub and consist of three accommodation blocks, consisting of Town House (next door to the pub) where we have all our large family rooms, and 2 stone buildings located at the back of the pub. All of our rooms are of a very high standard, with ensuite facilities, underfloor heating, Plasma TV screens and Tea & Coffee making facilities. Our rooms offer a host of features which we hope will make your stay most relaxing.

Some of our rooms are pet friendly and we also have a pet friendly area in the pub where well behaved pets are welcome. The beach is also dog friendly all year. We can even accommodate for horses providing stables within walking distance so why not take advantage of the 4 mile long beach?

The pub itself serves good quality pub food all year round, for example menus please see below. Please note our menu’s continuously change using where possible fresh local ingredients. The pub is open from 11am-11pm Monday – Saturday and 12-10.30pm on Sunday. Food is served all day everyday from 11am-9.30pm with the exception of Christmas day. Breakfast is served from 8.30am to 10.30am.

Home cooked Thai food is something of a speciality here and the Indian dishes and pizzas are also very popular but old fashioned British cooking is well represented by our pub menu with some excellent dishes such as steak and ale pie, chicken, leek and asparagus pie and Gower Beer Battered fish and home-made chips! We also have a large Specials Board for our finer food such as Local Welsh Lamb, Local Welsh Pork, Welsh Venison, Welsh Duck & Local Fish. Our Desserts are all homemade & we have a Welsh Cheese board with homemade chutney and biscuits.

The Kings Head has a large selection of Real Ales, up to 7 at any one time, nearly all produced at our own Brewery. The Gower Brewery opened in 2011 producing hand crafted Ale of the highest standards using traditional methods and high quality ingredients. The bar also boasts possibly one of the largest collection of malt whiskies outside Scotland (with over 100 available) and they were all personally collected from Scotland apart from our local Penderyn Whisky.
